Mel has been a physician specializing in Osteopathic Medicine since 1985. While having a traditional medical background, and initially having a family practice, the desire to address health and not disease, and the spiritual aspects of life became more compelling than what a traditional practice could offer. Osteopathy was a completely fulfilling resolution to that dilemma. Not only does it address the body as a single unit of function which is self correcting, but acknowledges the emotional and spiritual lives of people as well. He works mostly with manual techniques on the body, dealing primarily with pain conditions, and rarely medication.
